Step back in time to a place where herds of mammoth, mastodon, and dire wolves once ruled what was once known as the California Serengeti.
Trace your hands over the wrinkles of time and the remaining marks of the creatures that once were.
As we quiet the mind and open our senses, we’ll tune in to the evolution of living and bygone around us.
What We’ll Do
In this poetic mindfulness experience, we’ll look beyond the ethereal beauty of the Sonoma coast into the exquisite depth of a 10,000 year old history of earth in motion. We’ll begin with a grounding meditation to root in present inner and outer awareness before expanding into nonlinear time. As we move into silent meditation along the coastal bluffs, we’ll synchronize our movement with the rhythm of the natural world around us. We'll fall into step with the waves within tides, within seasons, within eras. As we follow the trails blazed by black-tailed deer, gray foxes, and coyotes we’ll track their megafauna predecessors who once walked these same paths. We’ll run our fingers over rocks rubbed smooth by mammoths and sit in the wallows they once used to cool themselves in. We'll savor the delicate balance we exist in at this exact moment in time and the endangered creatures of the present. The experience will close in reflection, listening to the shimmer of wind through rattlesnake grass, giant ferns, and coyote bush.
Where We’ll Be
